New Years 2017
With a New Year comes new beginnings. Some may say my resolutions are… or my goals are…
Funny with resolutions the myth, sort of like a birthday wish, don’t tell or it won’t come true. Whereas with a goal we are often told tell many so we are accountable for our actions.
I have decided to take a new approach in 2017. Yes, I would still like to lose weight, get in shape and save more. So, what’s new? That’s a rhetorical question. I spent the first week of 2017 internalizing the things I want to focus on and decided on no more than 3 at a time.
1. What’s most important in my life? 2. Things that will help me with number 1. And 3. Well, I’m still thinking about that. I am choosing not to keep this a secret because it is not a resolution or birthday wish. I’m going to share what I’m doing, the struggles and the accomplishments as we move through this exciting new year together.
Number 1 for the New Year: What’s important in my life? My family is always the priority in my heart and soul. I am often distracted by things left unfinished in our home. To get the house in order I’m going to take a 10 week approach. I found this idea on Houzz, click here for link, and I think it is an excellent way to focus on one room at a time as opposed to a scattered approach.
In several rooms we live a minimalist life style. I found an article that explains that concept and will be incorporating it in the 10 week plan for those rooms that aren’t. It’s not for everybody but if you have ever wondered how does somebody do that it could be insightful.
The first room I’m going to tackle will be the dining room. I’m thinking start small and work my way through the house. If you decide this is some thing you are going to try, share so I can lend support. I sure know I’m going to need it.
Updates to follow.
Happy New Year!
